If you have been thinking about hypnotherapy, one of the first questions that comes up is a practical one: what does it cost, and what am I paying for? It is a fair question, and you deserve a clear answer before you ever sit down in a session. Here is how pricing works at A Way Forward, what shapes the total investment, and how to decide whether it is the right step for you.
What a hypnotherapy session costs at A Way Forward
Our hypnotherapy sessions are priced at $150 per hour, whether you see us in person at our Orlando office near Lake Nona or online over Zoom. Your first session is a two-hour session at $300. Follow-up sessions are $150 for 60 minutes or $225 for 90 minutes, depending on what your work calls for. You can see every option, including multi-session journeys, on our pricing page.
Before any of that, we offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone. It is a relaxed conversation, with no pressure to book, where you can share what you are hoping to change and ask anything that is on your mind.
Why the first session is longer
The first session is two hours for a reason. The opening portion is a careful conversation about your history, your goals and the patterns you are ready to leave behind. That conversation shapes everything that follows. We then guide you into hypnosis and begin the work itself, so you leave your first visit having experienced real change rather than just an intake appointment.
Many people tell us this longer first session is where they finally feel heard. It also means follow-up sessions can be shorter and more focused, because the groundwork is already in place.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on what you are working on, how long the pattern has been with you and how you respond to hypnosis. Some people notice a meaningful shift after one or two sessions, while deeper or longer-standing patterns, such as old grief or anxiety that has been part of daily life for years, usually benefit from a series of sessions over several weeks.
We will never pressure you into a long package. During your consultation and first session, Shannon Rollins-Rodriguez or Jennifer Adams, our Clinical Hypnotherapists, will talk with you openly about what a realistic plan looks like for you. If you know you want ongoing support, our multi-session journeys on the pricing page bring the cost per session down.
What affects the cost of hypnotherapy in Orlando
Across Central Florida, hypnotherapy prices vary quite a bit, and comparing them can be confusing. A few things tend to explain the difference. Session length matters, since some practices offer 45 minute sessions while others, like ours, offer longer first sessions. Training matters too, because clinical hypnotherapists with formal training in therapeutic approaches tend to charge more than general hypnotists. Finally, the style of work makes a difference: a scripted recording read aloud is very different from a personalized, trauma-informed session built around your history.
When you compare options, it helps to ask what is included in each session, how long it runs, and whether the work is tailored to you or delivered from a standard script.
Is hypnotherapy covered by insurance?
We do not bill insurance at this time, so sessions are paid directly. Many clients use a Health Savings Account to pay for sessions, and we accept HSA cards along with major credit cards. If you plan to use an HSA or FSA, check with your plan administrator about what it covers.
Online sessions cost the same
Online hypnotherapy is priced the same as in-person sessions, with the same session lengths and the same personalized approach. Many of our clients are not based in Orlando at all; they find us from across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and around the world, and meet with us over Zoom from the comfort of home. Sessions are held in English, and our schedule runs on Eastern Time, so we will work with you to find a time that fits your day. Research on hypnotherapy delivered by video is still growing, and early findings suggest results comparable to in-person sessions for many concerns. You can read more on our online hypnotherapy page.
What about QHHT® past life regression?
QHHT® is a different kind of session from clinical hypnotherapy, and it is spread over two days. A QHHT® session in a single day can run very long, and we have found that splitting it gives you a more comfortable and focused experience. On day one, you meet with Shannon Rollins-Rodriguez for your intake. She guides you through a questionnaire developed from Dolores Cannon's method, learns about your life and history, and helps you gather the questions you most want answered. On day two, you return for the hypnosis session itself. QHHT® sessions are held in person at our Orlando office, and the full two-day experience is $677. If you are curious about past life regression but not ready for a full QHHT® experience, past life regression can also be part of a regular hypnotherapy session. You can learn more on our QHHT® page.
Is hypnotherapy worth the investment?
Only you can answer that, and we would rather you feel sure than rushed. What helps is understanding what you are investing in. Many of the patterns that keep you stuck, or that leave you feeling a certain way again and again, are deeply rooted in the subconscious mind, the operating system that runs beneath your conscious thoughts. This is why willpower and insight alone often are not enough to change them. In hypnotherapy, our practitioners guide you into hypnosis, a deeply relaxed and focused state often associated with slower theta brainwave activity, where the subconscious becomes easier to reach. From there, we can explore where these patterns began and work gently with their root causes, rather than only managing the symptoms on the surface. Research supports this kind of work for concerns like anxiety; a 2019 meta-analysis by Valentine and colleagues found that hypnosis was associated with meaningful reductions in anxiety compared with control conditions.
If you are weighing the cost, the free consultation is a good place to start. You will come away with a clearer sense of whether hypnotherapy fits what you need, and if it does not, we will tell you that too.
