Why anxiety does not respond to logic alone
Most people with anxiety already know their worry is out of proportion. The racing heart, the tight chest and the loop of what-ifs happen anyway, because anxiety starts in the nervous system before the thinking mind can catch up.
That is why talking yourself down often helps for a moment and then fades. Lasting relief usually comes from teaching the body a new baseline of safety and updating the subconscious beliefs that keep sounding the alarm.
How hypnotherapy helps
In hypnosis, your body settles into deep relaxation while your mind stays aware and focused. In that state, it becomes easier to notice where an anxious response began, release the emotion attached to it, and rehearse a calmer way of responding.
Clients often describe feeling lighter after a session, with more space between a trigger and their reaction. You stay in control the whole time, and you leave with simple tools to use between sessions.

What the research says about hypnosis for anxiety
Hypnosis is one of the more studied tools in mind-body care. Here is what the evidence supports, and where results vary, so you can decide with clear expectations.
Anxiety and stress
A 2019 meta-analysis found that hypnosis reduced anxiety, with benefits that held at follow-up. It tended to work especially well alongside other care. International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 2019.
A well-studied approach
A 2024 review of 49 meta-analyses covering 261 studies found meaningful effects of hypnosis across many health concerns, with the strongest evidence for pain and comfort during medical procedures. Frontiers in Psychology, 2024.
Responses vary
Stanford brain imaging research found that roughly one in four adults is not readily hypnotizable, and that people who respond well show distinct patterns of brain activity. Comfort, expectation and practice also shape the experience. Stanford Medicine, 2012.
Online and virtual hypnosis for anxiety
You do not need to be in Orlando to work with our hypnotherapists. Online hypnotherapy sessions run over a secure video call and follow the same structure as in-person sessions: intake, guided hypnosis and integration.
Many clients find it easier to settle into hypnosis at home, in their own space, with no commute or traffic beforehand. All you need is a quiet private room, a comfortable place to sit or lie down, and headphones if you have them.

Anxiety hypnotherapy questions
Does hypnotherapy work for anxiety?
Research on clinical hypnosis for anxiety is encouraging, and many clients feel a noticeable shift within the first few sessions. Results vary from person to person, which is why every session is personalized and why the free consultation is the best place to talk about what to expect for you.
Which hypnotherapist will I work with?
You can choose to work with Shannon Rollins-Rodriguez or Jennifer Adams. Both are Clinical Hypnotherapists who use the same approach to anxiety, and your free consultation is a good time to talk about which fit feels right. If you are interested in somatic breathwork or QHHT®, those are offered with Shannon.
How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need for anxiety?
Most clients complete three to five sessions for anxiety, although some notice a meaningful change after one. Anxiety that has been present for many years may benefit from a longer series, and we will talk through a plan with you after your first session.
What is the success rate of hypnosis for anxiety?
There is no single number that applies to everyone. Research suggests most adults can respond to hypnosis, while roughly one in four is not readily hypnotizable, and results depend on your comfort, expectations and how much you practice between sessions. We would rather be clear about that than promise an outcome.
Can hypnosis help with panic attacks?
Hypnosis can help you learn to settle your body and shift your response when panic begins to build, and many clients find that practicing between sessions makes the difference. Panic attacks can also have medical causes, so please check in with your doctor if they are new or severe.
Can hypnosis help with fear of flying?
Yes, fear of flying is one of the most common reasons clients come to us. Hypnosis for fear of flying calms the dread that builds before a trip and rehearses a steadier response to boarding, takeoff and turbulence, so you can travel without the days of worry beforehand.
Can I do anxiety hypnotherapy online?
Yes. Online sessions work through the same focused relaxation as in-person sessions, over a secure video call. You will need a quiet, private room, a comfortable place to sit or lie down, and headphones if you have them.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. You stay aware throughout and cannot be made to do anything against your values. You can open your eyes and return to full alertness at any time.
What if I do not think I can be hypnotized?
Most people can experience some degree of hypnosis, and skepticism does not stop it from working. It helps to think of hypnosis as a skill you practice, not something done to you. Your hypnotherapist will guide you at a pace that feels comfortable.
Can I hypnotize myself to reduce anxiety?
Yes, self-hypnosis is a learnable skill, and research suggests it works best when you practice actively and regularly. Your hypnotherapist teaches simple self-hypnosis and breathing tools you can use between sessions, and our guided self-hypnosis recordings are available in the shop. You can read more about how guided self-hypnosis works.
Is hypnotherapy a replacement for therapy or medication?
No. Hypnotherapy complements care from licensed mental health and medical providers. Please keep working with your prescribing provider, and never change medication without their guidance. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
Is hypnotherapy legal in Florida, and who is it not right for?
Yes. Hypnosis is legal in Florida, and our practice follows Florida Statutes Chapter 485. For any diagnosable medical condition, we work only with supervision or referral from the appropriate licensed practitioner. If you are in an acute mental health crisis, a licensed mental health provider should be your first call.
How much does hypnotherapy for anxiety cost in Orlando?
A first session is $300 for two full hours, and follow-up sessions are priced by length. We accept major credit cards, FSA and HSA cards, PayPal and Afterpay. See full details on our pricing page, or ask about a session plan during your free 15-minute consultation.
Can hypnosis help with anxiety and sleep?
Many people with anxiety also struggle to switch off at night, and relaxation skills learned in hypnosis can support better rest. Our shop offers guided sleep and calm recordings you can use at home, though they support relaxation and are not a treatment for any condition.
