Our process
How we create every recording
Every audio in the library begins with Shannon Rollins-Rodriguez. Each script is written with intention, shaped by her years of work with clients, and built around one clear focus, whether that is calm, confidence, deeper rest or self-trust.
Shannon records every one herself in a quiet, dedicated space, and each recording is then carefully mixed with soft lo-fi music and gentle binaural tones. How those pieces come together depends on the kind of recording you choose.
Two kinds of recording
Guided sessions and subliminals
Why binaural beats
Tones tuned to each recording
Every track in the library is layered with binaural beats. A slightly different tone plays in each ear, and your brain blends the two into a soft, steady pulse. We tune that pulse to the purpose of the recording, slower for bedtime and deep rest, and gentler and steadier for daytime calm.
We use them because they add a quiet, immersive layer that makes it easier to settle in and stay with the recording. Small studies suggest slow binaural beats may help some people relax and fall asleep more easily. The research is promising but still early, so we treat them as a support for the music and Shannon's voice, never the main ingredient.
Two tones, one pulse
Each ear hears its own tone, and the difference between them becomes a gentle rhythm you feel more than hear.
Matched to the moment
Guided sessions follow the shape of the session, and subliminals stay steady beneath the music for the length of the track.
Headphones on
Binaural beats need headphones or earbuds. Through speakers the tones mix in the air and the effect is lost.
Inside a guided track
How a session unfolds
Each guided recording follows the same four clinical stages a hypnotherapist uses in the room with you. Knowing what is coming helps you relax into it.
Induction
Shannon's voice guides your breathing and attention inward, helping your body shift out of busy, alert mode.
Deepening
Imagery and gentle counting take you further into relaxation as outside distractions fade.
Suggestion
Clinically written suggestions speak to the goal of the track in language designed to feel natural.
Returning
You are guided gently back to full awareness. Tracks meant for bedtime let you drift into sleep instead.
The research
What the research supports
We build every audio on what the evidence supports, and we tell you plainly where it is strong and where it is still early.
Hypnosis is well studied
A 2024 review of 49 meta-analyses, covering 261 studies, found meaningful effects of hypnosis across many health concerns.

Self-hypnosis is a skill
A review of 22 randomized trials found the best results came when people practiced actively and regularly.

Binaural tones
Small studies suggest slow binaural beats may help some people relax and fall asleep more easily. The research is promising but early, so we treat them as a gentle support. They need headphones, because through speakers the tones mix in the air and the effect is lost.

Repetition matters
Much of how we respond runs on habit. Hearing a supportive message again and again in a calm state is a gentle way to rehearse a new way of speaking to yourself.

Meet the creator
Shannon Rollins-Rodriguez
Shannon is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, QHHT Level 2 practitioner and Pause Breathwork facilitator, and the co-founder of A Way Forward in Orlando. Her approach is trauma informed, heart led and grounded in research.
Every script in the library comes from the same work she does one on one with clients, and every recording is in her own voice. When something feels bigger than a daily practice, she also sees clients in person in Orlando and online.
